Japanese Hari

Japanese Hari is a very specialized style of acupuncture. It is known for its gentle (and often non-insertive) needling techniques, using very fine silver and stainless steel needles. The patient is still able to feel the movement of energy (Ki in Japanese and Qi in Chinese) during the treatment. These gentle treatments are specifically directed at balancing each individual patient’s essential vitality.

The theory of Hari originates from the Nanjing, an ancient text of writing about acupuncture theory. What is unique is the gentle quality of techniques, which is quite different from the Classical Neijing.

I choose Hari methods when working with infants, children, seniors, needle-phobic, and sensitive patients.

This is an example of the non-insertion needling technique using a silver needle.
